Corbin has finally learned to roll over. Well, he can roll from his back onto either side, and just today he learned to roll over onto his tummy. The fun ends there, however, as he gets stuck and then frustrated that he can't change position. I suspect he won't be spending too much time in his bouncey seat because he must be strapped in or he will roll right out of it, and since he loves to roll so much, the bouncey seat won't be much fun any more.
i've recently invested in this cosleeper for the family bed to stop him from rolling out of bed. I've recently gotten him to sleep for a few hours in the cradle each night before I go to bed, but soon the cradle will go to another new mother and I don't have room to set up the crib I bought.
I've been teaching Corbin to hold a sippy cup. i want him to drink water, and since he refuses to take a bottle, a sippy cup is the only way. He will drink a little bit while I hold it, and he will hold it for a minute or two when it is empty, so I think it's a positive start.
Corbin's grasping abilities have also gotten stronger. He's recently learned to pinch, and delights in pinching my breast while he feeds. He learned to knead the breast very quickly, and I hope that pinching is just a phase and that he goes back to kneading.
i've developed a bit of a cold in the last few days, but I've been popping vitamine C and echinacea, so I've only been suffering some minor nasal congestion. Luckily, Corbin has not shown any symptoms yet.
I think I found both my kids on the wrong side of the bouncy chair after they got rolling. No permanent damage though!
I'm a big believer in going straight from breast to sippy cup, too, but I wouldn't worry about it quite yet. (Isn't Corbin only about five months old?)Wait till he's eating solids and then offer a bit of water at meals. Too much water fills up baby tummies that are best filled with breast milk.

I don't really care if he doesn't drink from the sippy cup, I just thought I'd try it one day to see if he would. Sometimes, when he gets the hiccups drinking water or nursing is the only thing that will relieve them. He used to take water in a bottle--usually just a few sips but it was enough--but now he won't. For now, I will just stick with letting him play with the cup as he seems to think it is a fascinating toy.
